Learn about A Great Sustainable Initiative in Nigeria, ProInSafe Leadership And Community Youths Club (PLACY Club)

Learn about A Great Sustainable Initiative in Nigeria, ProInSafe Leadership And Community Youths Club (PLACY Club)

ProInSafe Leadership And Community Youths Club (PLACY Club) will foster rapid socio-economic development in Nigeria.

Motto: Passion ‘n’ Action

Vision

To nurture great leaders and foster sustainable socio-economic development in Nigeria.

Mission

To inspire and promote self-development of new generation (Youths) for fruitful community services necessary for sustainable development.

Our focus

We support Capacity Building (Talent Hunt), Initiative ideas, and Innovations (Self and Community development services). This will be of benefit to the community in the following ways:

  • To help Youths discover and actualize their potentials.
  • To develop healthy lifestyle to promote their mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Empower them to encourage computer and educational literacy.
  • Inspire effective leadership qualities in youths.
  • Foster economic growth.
  • To identify and co-create solutions to problems.
  • Create healthy and safe environment.

ProInSafe provides opportunities and relevant resources to inspire, motivate and empower youths to promote self-actualization hence facilitate community development and national growth. In addition to this, ProInSafe Empowerment Projects (PEP) was incorporated to support diligent youths and lucrative ideas. Therefore PLACY Club (a PEP project) was initiated for the Youths.

PLACY Club is for Youths to enhance their experience by fostering a positive image, expanding school and community public relations, sponsoring and participating in school and community service activities, engaging in charitable act, getting used books and other items for the less privileged ones, improving communication and overall well-being, and promoting school activities.

Placy Club primarily will focus on four aspects: fundraising, community service, career interest, and interpersonal dynamics (also known as group dynamics). It has been observed that Nigerian youths are blessed with great minds and have the potentials to resolve issues impeding the growth of the nation; they however seek support and mentorship to promote their self-development, polish their potentials to be productive and ensure self-actualization in order to function optimally. Ignorance and lack of mentorship are observed to be the detriment hampering the progress of Youths Talent.

PLACY Club for the Youths will be active participation in thoughtfully organized service that meets the needs of communities. This will provide youths with opportunities to get in touch with the community and to realize their role they play and core values in society so that they can become active and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Solving this problem along the line earn them millions and billions of naira for example, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Ben Carson etc.

Audience at ProInSafe Launching

Audience pays attention at the event

This gave insight into ProInSafe, its aims, objectives and services. Read the full speech-Introduction to ProInSafe as discussed by Miss Rukayyah on ProInSafe Blog. Rukayyah urged everyone to get registered with ProInSafe because it is a win-win situation. The business owners will experience higher sales in their business and will also support the vision of ProInSafe to promote internet safety. She further revealed that ProInSafe will rapidly achieve it’s goals with support from relevant governmental agencies, investors and sponsors. She ended her presentation by thanking all the people present at the occasion. Everyone appreciated her presentation and she entertained few questions. Questions and answer to these questions are found below.

  1. Can illiterates register with ProInSafe?

Ans: Definitely yes! ProInSafe in fact focuses more on helping individuals with less experience in ICT, digital marketing and the likes but who desire online presence to promote their businesses and get their business across to larger crowd. Our competent staff and experts are ready to get your business to the limelight as they continue to strategically publicize ProInSafe and carefully verify businesses. All you need do is submit vital information about you and your business for ProInSafe to validate and promote your business.

  1. What is the benefit of ProInSafe over radio advert?

Ans: The world is going digital, Nigeria is one of the countries that rates very high in internet usage. Both educated and uneducated people are on social media. People have formed the habits of going straight to Google search engine to search for particular products/services even before they ask the person that’s next to them. ProInSafe therefore helps to build a trusted online presence. ProInSafe charges very affordable fee that last forever so far the business is legitimate and you continue to operate the business. Therefore your business is always visible online that is, the advert is continously ongoing.  Registration with ProInSafe is highly recommended if you have or desire online presence, the YAS code generated is an identity of your credibility and will make your adverts through other media more effective. Internet is a very fast and effective tool to create awareness about businesses and to get access to potential consumers. Online advert often increases patronages. ProInSafe aims to enable all business owners exploit the medium to grow their businesses.

However, some people abuse these opportunities and they exploit the medium for their selfish use by scamming people. Online consumers now find it hard trusting online businesses that they lose even accurate opportunities. Despite their paranoia, some people still fall victims of scam because business scammers have crafty ways of arousing interests of consumers, by advertising fake great offers, impersonating other businesses etc. With ProInSafe, business owners easily convince consumers of their credibility.

We must understand that ProInSafe sole aim is to regulate the affairs of online businesses in order to promote internet safety, the advertisement service is only a value added service. There is Vconnect too but even this doesn’t serve our purpose, we exist to serve as online business regulatory organization, that provides all legitimate businesses an identify for their credibility and mitigate risks of business scam.

  1. ProInSafe officially started business operation in 2019, can you tell us how many businesses you have registered?

Ans: We have registered close to 12 businesses within two 6 weeks of establishment.

  1. How does your adverts get to illiterates?

Ans: Like I said earlier, all we are concerned about is the internet. Both literates and illiterates use one or more social media, therefore these people that are online will get to see the adverts of your business. In addition to that people who get information online often disseminate the information to people around them. This way information can as well be passed across to the very few people who have no online presence.

  1. How will ProInSafe achieve all its goals?

Ans: We continue to seek for support from governmental agencies, reputable entities and other investors, with adequate funds and infrastructures, competent staff/experts, strong marketing, we will get everyone (online business owners) to cooperate with us by registering to get their YAS codes. We will realize our vision, risks of business scam will be mitigated, only credible businesses will thrive more and digital marketing will be very more effective.

  1. What are your criteria for legitimate business:

Ans: The business must sell what it claims to sell, the information provided such as personal details and business information must be verifiable and confirmed by a relative/random third party to be true.

  1. What are your means of advertisement?

Ans: We post your businesses on our social media pages: twitter, instagram, facebook, LinkedIn, Whatsapp etc. We also advertise (we charge differently for this) by placing your business adverts on our website. Our website is quite trusted therefore consumers are more likely to patronize businesses found on our website.

Barr Sarafadeen Ibadan presenting chairman speech

Subsequently, the Chairman, Barrister Sarafadeen Ibrahim gave a welcome address as follow:

“I greet the distinguished guests and everyone present here today. Before I proceed I must introduce myself, I am Barrister Sarafadeen Ibrahim representing Professor Shuaib Oba AbdulRaheem. Prof would have loved to personally atrend this program but could not due to urgent national assignment. On behalf of Prof Shuaib Oba, I want to sincerely aplogize for his absence. I have with me a prepared speech to be presented by the Chairman but I will do that presently. But before I do that, it is pertinent for me to give remarks.

As a lawyer, I know that the present government is doing a lot to arrest cyber crimes and indeed the whole of Nigeria now is suspecting all businesses that have something to do with internet. But I want to assure this august gathering that not all businesses on internet is criminal or illegal, one of these legal online businesses is ProInSafe Organization. I want to tell us that there are a lot of legitimate opportunities on the internet that we must exploit. With ProInSafe we can safely do that.

In fact, I must commend the initiatives of the founders and team of ProInSafe because I know that myself, I have not gotten to the bus stop of learning. In fact, education has been described as progressive discovery of ignorance. We continue to learn as humans. The Prophet (S A W) has said it all that we learn from cradle to grave. Therefore it is not too much for us even as adults to key in into ProInSafe Organization. Once again, I congratulate the ProInSafe team and I want to encourage all of us to be partakers in the project.

Having said that, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this occasion of the Grand Opening of an innovative Nigerian Organization, PROINSAFE. I am particularly thankful to our special guests of honour and everyone who is here today. I would like to express our sincere appreciation to every person who has supported the organization.

I welcome in a special way, all our clients and potential clients. We are here to formally bring to a limelight, the organization which would encourage hardworking Nigerians who are entrepreneurs and protect people from falling victim of business frauds.

ProInSafe is happy to have everyone on ground. It is our utmost hope and belief that everyone here shares the same vision with us as we build a Nigeria where entrepreneurs get appropriate reward for their initiative and consumers safely transact and get the real value of what they pay for.

With the ProInSafe initiated empowerment program, community development will be facilitated, innovations encouraged and youths will be trained to become great leaders .Finally, I want to encourage us to sit back, relax, learn and gain  maximally from this launching. Thanks and God bless you!!!”

INSPIRING SELF-DEVELOPMENT COACHING BY DR ABDULRAZAQ ONIYE (FROM UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN) AT PROINSAFE LAUNCHING EVENT

Permit me to stand on the well established protocol, I greet ProInSafe team, the distinguished guests and all the people that are seated here today. Good evening to everyone.  I am invited to discuss self-development. Self development basically helps us to become more aware of our talents, potentials and help to bring to the fore issue of human capital development. This awareness facilitates employability and ensures that we are able to contribute to personal and national development.

Self-development involves steps taken to discover/identify your talents, strengths and other attributes that will help you to fulfil your purpose in this life because obviously we all are existing to fulfil certain purpose. Many people are unable to progress in life because of their inability to identify their talents, some people are gifted in writing, some have oratory power, when they talk you are mesmerized and amazed.

You must identify various areas you are talented, is it writing, statistics, entrepreneurship, sport, speaking etc. Self development implies you know your talents.  Closely related to that is the issue of potential, we all do not have the same potentials. That’s why some people thrive in a particular field of endeavors and others do not. That is why today some people going to school and always fail, because they do not necessarily have business in the academic field they are studying, everyone wants to attain first, second, third degrees because others are doing that when the person is meant to focus on entrepreneurship. As a result he will be wasting his resources; time, money and energy at school and they will be marking him there as a failure.

Some people have failed jamb consecutively that they can already predict jamb questions. These people can easily tell that these questions were asked three years ago and won’t be set until next year. The reason for this is because they have written jambs so many times but they keep failing, or maybe they did pass but didn’t just gain admission into the university, meanwhile they were so determined to go to university not so that they can gain advanced knowledge to be productive but because of societal expectations.

Whereas if such person had discovered his/her potential, he/she would not have so much stressful experience. Some students spend more fruitless years than expected in school or in a particular learning institute because they are yet to discover their talents. They are then perceived as failures by people around them. Some people are destined to be in school, attain all forms of degrees yet they hardly have something valuable to show for it simply because they are not self-developed. Some people only stick to the information taught in school, this way, they do not meet up with standards. We must have those attributes that reflect self development to benefit more from all forms of education we acquire. Some people are punctual and faithful to their studies but still do not perform optimally as a result of lack of self-development.

Self development implies that you just a take a step, lay a significant foundation (discover your potentials) for further development, continue to improve yourself and  progress to be the best you can be. Not all of us must attain second degrees, we may all have first degrees because obviously education is required to fully operate in the society, but not all of us will get second degrees. And if we all obtain second degree, all of us won’t obtain doctorate degree. The most important thing is to discover the innate potentials, that’s very crucial to the issue of self-development. I commend the organizers of this program for coming up with such crucial topic; self-development. Nigeria has many problems because many people within the country are not self-developed.

The second thing to discuss is “what potentials have you?” You need to think about how you will develop your potentials to be able to establish an organization of your own so that you can employ others. Don’t think just about being employed. Imagine everyone thinks of being employed, that means we will have no employers, no organization, no investment, how do we then work to survive? Therefore to sustain the economy of the country, more people must think about creating employment and not just about being employed.

In those days, we had just University or Ilorin in Kwara state, now there are more than four universities within Kwara state. More potential employees are being created, this is a reason each person must be well developed to be self-reliant, self employed and also provide opportunities for others to be employed. In addition, technological advancement today is getting people out of jobs, it is contributing to reduction in the need for human labor, that is, job vacancies are very few.

In those days it would take about few days before getting pictures from photographers, they will give you the negative copies and ask you to later come back for the hard copy. But now all those things have gone into extinction, photographers nowadays have very few or no room for employment. In those days, post office was very relevant because people would post letters to communicate with their loved ones that are distant. The post office hardly matters anymore upon the arrival of handsets, laptops etc. which means many people working there must have lost their jobs. In fact, motor parks do not get enough passengers anymore relative to those days because people can easily communicate (have meetings etc) through mobile phones, and other communication gadgets instead of travelling to places.

Instead of taking taxi to your aunt’s place, you can easily make a phone call of just 5 naira to confirm if she’s around, if she says no, you will save up the money (about 50 or 100 naira) and time to go to her house and still be disappointed by her absence. All these innovations are evidence of some people’s self development. We can see the latter is very vital to the community, societal and national development.

We have discussed talents, potentials, acquisition and diversification. Acquisition is going to school to learn how to read, write, learn numeracy, and acquire other basic knowledge required to fit into the society. The beginning of self development is learning how to diversify. Diversification involves acquiring and developing your skills and potentials. Which implies that today you cannot rejoice over having just a skill, things are changing, the world is evolving. If you only have certificate without acquiring another relevant skill, if the field you have its certificate becomes redundant, then count yourself jobless. If you have no skill you can sell, what can employers buy from you. So you need to diversify.

Dr Oniye presents self-development coaching at ProInSafe Launching

Dr AbdulRazaq Oniye self-development coaching at ProInSafe Launching

Now I will be rounding up by mentioning some tips for your self-development. To be self-developed we need to do a number of things some of which include:

  1. You must ensure that you are focused on self-improvement. Improve yourself, read outside classroom. Don’t limit your knowledge to what you are taught by your teachers/lecturers.
  2. Individual Growth: If you have first degree, be focused on acquiring a skill relevant to developing your potentials. Note that, you need to consider your potentials before acquiring a skill. If you don’t have the potential, you will be tagged a failure during the course of the training and after the training.
  3. Team work: I like the drama presented by the youngsters (PLACY Club members), the young girl who was the business woman was selling on her own but was making very low sales, by the time she exchanged ideas with the other young boy (who was the distributor), she learned some tactics which helped to grow her business. If you are doing it all alone without a team work and input of other people, you will experience low or no progress. You must learn to do team work.
  4. You must be productive. This is internet era, when you go online be focused on your needs and how you can use the internet to gratify your needs. If you are going online to search for a topic, do just that to the exclusion of everything else. Don’t be distracted by Facebook. If you did not go online to browse Instagram, don’t let Instagram distract you. If you are not online to tweet, don’t let twitter distract you. If you are not focused, you can be online for 8 hours, wasting your MB, your time and energy without achieving a significant goal. You will start checking your social media messages, surfing the net etc and you will still appear busy, busy doing nothing. Be focused, be determined, be mindful and be proactive
  5. Giving Back: A self-developed person must learn to give back to the society. That is the time to reflect your self development, a self developed person is not just busy with him/herself alone. Your self development should inspire you to engage in one or two projects that can benefit the life of others. Like this ProInSafe seminar, everyone here today paid no entrance fee before they can get free access to valuable lectures and information necessary to develop them psychologically and to develop their skills. Certainly acquiring and applying these skills will help them to be more productive. Therefore ProInSafe team has benefited the lives of people here today. That is the way to go as self developed individuals.
  6. Develop your communication skills: To go far in life you must work on your communication skills. Some people are enriched with sound knowledge and talents but they lack expression. They lack quality and meaningful expression. Some people are not welcomed at official meetings because of their lack of presentation despite their rich knowledge and experience. Their knowledge is wasteful and not yet adequate because they have not acquired the knowledge and skills of effective communication. Don’t beat about the bush, be detailed but precise. Improve on your communication skills.
  7. You need to work on your relationship: Some of us have good networks but we don’t exploit them fruitfully. Some people went to school, they made friends but don’t know the value of friendship. Some of your classmates are daughters and sons to valuable people yet you cannot tap into these resources. You have hundreds of friends on social media who are adding no value to you. Ask yourself, how many of your acquaintances can be helpful/useful in reaching your own destination. Work on your network, constructive ones. That’s what I mean by building your relationships.
  8. Be a leader of yourself: You need to be a good follower to be a good leader. Learn to control yourself and be disciplined that when you set out your goals you commit yourself to the achievement of those goals. Learn to obey and believe in yourself.
  9. Be Creative : You need to be creative in the course of developing yourself. While developing yourself, your creativity is improved. Innovation is important in this era. Some people are not better than you but they are well packaged. Some people sell locust beans, package it well and transport to other states. If you sell good products but your business lacks quality packaging, very few people or no one will patronize you. Some people package grounded pepper, garri etc and make greater sales compare to their competitors who do not package as such. Packaging is very key to someone who is intentional about self-development.
  10. Learn to cope with failure: Always understand that Rome was not built in a day. Look at this bulb (electricity) we all are benefiting from today was developed by a man, who failed about  a thousand times. It was after he tried a thousandth time that he was able to develop an inferior kind of bulb. The pioneering bulb has gone through so many alterations before we have nice modern bulb of today. Today we are using phones which are forms of computers, the very first set of computers are gigantic and are very limited and restricted, now we have very nice laptops, desktops etc. The first set of phones were also very huge (especially 3310 models of phones) that they tagged them “owo n ro mi” (Yoruba words for my hands ache) implying how big the phones were at the time. If you want to live and not make mistakes, it means you are not trying to be self-developed, nor are you making an impact, you are not even working nor taking any significant step at all.

Thank you!

Every Nigerian is to be blamed for the economic upheavals of the country

Every Nigerian is to be blamed for the economic upheavals of the country

It is undeniable that the economy of Nigeria is being sabotaged and crushed by the corrupt people, the supposed leaders so to say.

Yet our own attitudes contribute more to the turbulence faced by the country economically. When we mention Nigeria, its not just about the geographical entity, it is absolutely about the lives existing in the geographical entity, specially the “thinking beings” there.

Let’s go straight to the point. Many of us do not purchase a product, if we find our country name written on it, such as “made in Nigeria.” That’s unfair, humiliating and catastrophic. We don’t even know that these attitudes and the likes are the obstacles impeding the great nation especially in terms of her economy.

We need to regulate the cash flow by patronizing the businesses in our country, that’s the biggest investment, if only we know. Let’s cite an example, you go to a Nigerian hospital for your surgery, get products made in Nigeria etc.

These are ways to generate income into the country. Some people might think, if we generate income, the government and people in positions will be the ones to consume it all. You may be right, but think of it this way, it could also create a reality, in which there is enough for everyone.

Buying items made in Nigeria from retailers will compel the retailers to get more of such items from wholesalers, consequently the wholesalers will continue to demand more from the producers. In that manner, our market is being expanded, transaction is going on, cash is flowing in and out within the country. The companies are delighted and continue to make all efforts to gratify the consumers.

The workers are getting good pay, they are able to pay children’s school fees, teachers are enjoying the boons and boom as well because the school management are able to promptly pay up their salaries, people are able to generate capital to start businesses from their income too, there is more to buy, there is more to sell, there is enough income for everyone to buy, prices of things go high or low, everyone is already getting enough to use to purchase.

We should note that every sector will definitely walk along the progressive triumphs with the business/economic sectors. Therefore civil servants won’t be left out, their salaries will stop ceasing. Inevitably the standards of living continue to increase for Nigerians, if not all, a significant number of them(Nigerians).

When 70% of the people are financially buoyant, the 30% will easily be catered for. Rukayyah Rahman.

We cannot escape the consequences of our decisions and actions. Therefore we need to play our own part and see what comes out of it, we need to stop investing in other countries so much that we continue to push our dear country into economic pitfalls. Major problem in Nigeria is that Nigerians often act without considering the proportional consequence of such actions.  If you don’t spend your money to purchase more in the country, then be ready to suffer from the crimes and other inconveniences associated with poverty and unemployment rates.

All these things are connected, they are! Companies won’t hire if they make less sales, people won’t strive to start a business or invest in a business expansion if they know they won’t be patronized. Fake products will continue to be on the rise because everyone is struggling to make a living and no buyers to buy their quality products created out of sweat, energy and huge sum of money.

Working together, we will continue to lay the foundation for a new generation of inclusive economic growth, expand economic opportunity for middle-class families, and ensure that innovative businesses have the support they need to thrive and grow in the years to come. _Maggie Hassan

We can mitigate all of these problems including the greatest of all these problems which is poverty, we can stabilize the economy, a notable number of us can enjoy good standard of living and beyond if we put a stop to such ignorant acts, “I cannot buy the sugar that has the label of made in Nigeria,” “The local rice is delicious but I cannot buy it because it is from our people in Nigeria.” Lets stop being enemies to our own country, to our own progress. Let’s motivate the companies and industries here to be better, lets support them. Let us be the change we hope to observe in other people.

Nobody is perfect, more so platforms now exist for us to lay our complaints to producers as a way to point out their flaws, which will then lead to their improvement.

Virtually, low patronage that is, lack of (enough) demands which is synonymous to the merchant (or business owner) making less sales is an impetus for their manipulations, like producing inferior goods, just to maximize profits.

Our support which exists in our commitment to purchase from them encourages them to offer better products and services. They will be motivated to be at their best for their loyal customers.

It is not a must to yield to this. But we need to understand that until we invest in our own country before we enjoy the luxury too, before we enjoy growth in our other endeavors too, before we enjoy peaceful and blissful Nigeria. Only a fool will say Nigeria cannot be better. No problem exists without its solution. The Almighty One is so kind to us, He makes all problems co-exist with their solutions. All we need do is discover, realize and act accordingly. What we give, we take. Life operates on cause and effect principle. Nigeria is no exception, therefore we must refine our attitudes towards the products/services made/rendered by our own people in Nigeria.

If not, we are not helping the situation, and that gives us very little right (if there is any at all) to nag about the economic and security situation of the country, and as a result we continue to regress.

We really need to be sensitized over this and let us all see our faults, accept them and make sincere efforts to ameliorate the situation.

Entrepreneurs should patronize entrepreneurs within the country, civil servants should patronize stores within the country, politicians should patronize hospitals within the country and so on. We must unite to rise!

Developed countries are ahead of us despite our amazing resources because of this. They use their own products and services, they also compel people from other countries to come for their people’s products and services. We keep sinking because of our selfish and ignorant attitudes.

No one is saying you should get no foreign product, of course you can because we don’t have everything here but learn to buy more from within the country, encourage businesses here too, help them make more sales to rise up to international standard for our own good. The benefits for doing this cannot be numbered. Invest more in Nigeria, your patronage within the country is a great investment.

We fill your minds with great contents. Don’t miss it!
